About Me

My photo
I'm a freshman at Texas Tech. I'm studying to become a graphic designer. I am a Christian--a Catholic Christian. I love my family and friends. If your wondering why a lot of my posts have the tag 'Levi,' this is my boyfriend. He's a big part of my life, so you must get over me always talking about him ALL THE TIME. :-) I'm a pretty boring person. I like things to be simple. My favorite shirts are the $8 solid color v-necks from Target paired with some jeans. I may add in a colorful scarf from time to time, but for the most part that's my outfit. I keep it simple.

Oh, life can be strange. Good and bad in so many ways.

It's fall break! I am thoroughly enjoying it. ESPECIALLY not having any drawing or design homework that is generally sucking the life out of my days more and more lately. All I have to do is construct a five minute presentation over some art piece, read a chapter in Art History, and do a lesson in my Technology in the Arts class (I typically describe this as the stupidest class I have ever had to enroll in). This is a very LIGHT load of homework than what I am used to right now.

This weekend has been very good, even if I did decide not to go home (which would have been equally nice of a weekend). But my Levi came! For a while now I have been sloooowly expanding Levi's sad list restaurant experiences. Before he started tagging along with this girl, his list of restaurants he has tried was very small. I'm not sure that he had ever even been to anything other than The Beehive or Icehouse. So, I first took him to Chili's (which he now ALWAYS want's to go there), then to Texas Roadhouse, next was Bonzai, Cheddars, and then Olive Garden (which he was very weary about going because his idea of Italian is spaghetti... he hates tomato sauce). This weekend, I took him to Carino's. Where he admitted to me that he believes that he likes Italian food. YES! How exciting!

A couple weeks ago, in my Introduction to Art Seminar, the professor has all of the art major supervisors come and speak to us about that specific major. The Communication design one came and was talking a little bit, and answered my question on why it was called communication design instead of graphic design. Communication design is not just about graphic design! Go figure, huh? Graphic design is just one thing that can come out of this major. Good news for me. Even though it all has to do with careers that have SOMETHING to do with design, but is not LIMITED to graphic design. COOL. But what REALLY intrigued me was when he said that Pixar is looking for graphic designers INSTEAD of animators. HOW AWESOME WOULD IT BE TO WORK WITH PIXAR?! I could actually get a paid internship for half a year with them first. Although, I have always wanted to study abroad. I don't think I could do both... or all three because I could also get a paid internship with Disney at Disney World. That would be pretty rockin' too. So many decisions...

If I start applying for scholarships early, does that mean I have a better chance of receiving them? I'm curious. I need to get more scholarships for next year. I don't want to have to pay for schooling if I can get someone else to. I mean, who would, right?

Today I have started looking into getting all my stuff together and deciding which courses I need to take next semester. I need my current transcript to start doing this and it says I have a hold. I don't know how I got this hold, and how I can get rid of it. But I need to figure it out fast! I'm supposed to make an appointment with my advisor soon in order to get my courses all lined out for next semester. How annoying.

This Thursday I have the choice to either go to a fashion show, or go to Paradigm and get a free t-shirt. This fashion show is for Falling Whistles charity and is at no cost to me. But doors open at 6:30 and the show doesn't end until 9. That's a lot of time that I could be studying for my Mass Communications Test that's the next day. But if I go to Paradigm and am one of the first 200 people to show, I could get a free t-shirt! Plus I haven't been to Paradigm in awhile and I miss it. But it normally starts at 8 and goes until 10. Giving me more time to study AND a free shirt! So really it's either: more study time, free shirt, and much needed Jesus time OR get all dressed up and go to a fashion show.

My paragraph breaks look really funny to me... I don't know what's going on. I tried fixing them, but it doesn't seem fixed. Some of them look like bigger spaces and others are normal.
